Adult Volunteers

Do you love history? Or enjoy helping local school children? Then we are looking for you! Become a Cracker Country volunteer, and join our wonderful team sharing history during educational field trips!

Help us put the "living" in living history! Volunteers dress in period clothing and demonstrate time-honored skills and crafts to immerse guests in an authentic experience of life in Florida more than a century ago. Docents help teach hands-on educational field trips for school children, and help interpret history at special events and during the annual Florida State Fair.

Cracker Country provides orientation and on-going learning opportunities. Docents must be able to commit to at least a year of service, from September to May, for a minimum of 8 hours per month, or for a minimum of 5 days during the annual Florida State Fair. Schedule is flexible.

Currently we are only seeking volunteers who are available to help on weekdays.
