Corn Crib

Reconstructed in 2011 incorporating elements of the original structure built around 1900 in Bereah, Fl. The Corn Crib is used for the storage of corn after it has been harvested. In Florida, corn was a very profitable crop during the days of the pioneers. Corn was planted in the months of February through April and harvested in the late summer months. After the corn was cribbed, the land could be used for growing peas and sweet potatoes.
