Helping youth exhibitors ethically raise and show livestock.
Florida State Fair Exhibitor Ethics
The Florida State Fair developed the Youth Livestock Show Ethics and Animal Care Training Program based on the idea that youth exhibitors need proper training for raising and showing animals. Through partnerships with like-minded county fairs across the state of Florida, we provide helpful resources including the Youth Livestock Show Ethics and Animal Care Workshop.
Youth Livestock Show Ethics & Animal Care Workshop
The Youth Livestock Show Ethics and Animal Care Workshop is designed to certify students to meet the mandatory certification requirements that will be in effect for the 2026 Florida State Fair. Additionally, many fairs throughout the state are now requiring exhibitors to attend a training workshop. Check the rules for the fair you are attending to see if it is required.
These workshops are designed to help exhibitors understand:
- The purpose of youth livestock projects
- The importance of ethics in youth livestock projects
- Proper animal handling and management
- The difference between animal welfare and animal rights
- Be prepared to be an advocate for Florida Agriculture
Ethics Workshops Dates & Calendar
Throughout the 2025-2026 Fair Season, we will be offering workshops for new exhibitors and anyone who needs to be renewed. Certification Numbers starting with 24, 25, or 26 are current and valid. Please note, these certifications are valid for three fair seasons, not three calendar years. Youth Livestock Show Ethics and Animal Care Workshops are continuously updated.
